1 Richwoods (27-4): The Knights move to Class 4A competition but are loaded with talent. Returning starters Brenna Detra (sr. G) and Gabby Cunningham (sr. F) are joined by sophomore point guard Olivia Elger (transfer from Notre Dame) and quick guard LaDaisha Steen Yates (transfer from Central). Senior Maddie Pierce and junior forward Asyia Williams also bring a wealth of varsity experience.
- 2 Morton (31-3): The Potters return senior F Sarah Livingston (14.8 ppg, 8 rpg, 2.5 blocks) and junior G Kate Byrne (11 ppg) but lost three starters from last year’s team. Two of the players expected to step up to replace them are junior G/F Abbie Cox and junior G/F Emily Schultz. Freshman Chandler Ryan also is expected to contribute.
- 3 Galesburg (27-6): The Silver Streaks return eight players who were key parts of their “system” offense, including Jessica Lieber (16.5 ppg, 173 career 3s), Sharron Diggins (14.1 ppg) and six 3-point-shooting threats. One third of the team’s games will be against Class 4A competition.
- 4 Washington (11-17): Though the Panthers have no seniors, the juniors and sophomores have experienced success throughout their careers, which coach Randy Marchand hopes to build on this season. Becca Dwyer, Hayley Reneau, MaKayla Hartter and Jess Learned all have varsity experience.
