IHSA Tourney Site Assignments (Kind of)

The IHSA released sites for Regionals, Sectionals, and Supersectionals today.

Two of the four Supersectionals are TBA. We do not know where we are assigned up 3 of the 8 Regionals in the Peoria area Sectional are unassigned.

What are the possibilities?

We could be assigned to one of three possible sites it would seem:

Sterling Regional- If we are to go there, it would be a guess we would be in with Sterling, Alleman, Geneseo, and Rock Falls. The winner of that Regional would then go to the Genoa Kingston Sectional. They would face the Stillman Valley, Burlington Central, and Woodstock Regionals. One could speculate this would fit where we have gone the last couple years- north. But we were not with Sterling last year.

The southern Sectional has Regionals at Bloomington CC, Dunlap, Fairbury, and TBA. If they did as last year, they would send us, Alleman, Geneseo, IVC to Dunlap. If they send Geneseo and Alleman north then it might be Galesburg, IVC, Dunlap, Canton, and IVC at Dunlap- or PND or Central or Manual-- in other words Peoria schools.

It would seem the TBA would most likely be a Peoria area school. IVC, PND, Central, Manual, E Peoria, Canton, Limestone, Manual, Washington, Metamora, and Morton all have to find a place. You add Galesburg in and that would be 12 schools needing a Regional. Washington, Metamora, and Morton, East Peoria might also be sent to Bloomington or south to Rochester.

As has been the case with Galesburg in all sports- you have to wait and see.

The other schools of the WB6 run into an interesting situation. The only 4A Regional in the area is Richwoods. It would appear UTHS, Moline, Rock Island, Richwoods, and Pekin would all go to Richwoods with Quincy headed to Alton.

The assignments come out on December 1.

Completing list of 3A sites....
