In last night's game, the Streaks made the last shot of the third quarter and then the first 12 shots of the fourth quarter. I know I have never seen anything like it.
Here is the Register-Mail description of the sequence...
Actually, Galesburg made 13 straight shots because Jessica Lieber’s layup just beat the buzzer at the end of the third period to put the Streaks ahead 55-47.
Then to start the fourth period, Sharron Diggins, Casey Williams, Allison Mangieri and Sharron Diggins again connected on 3-pointers on consecutive trips down the floor, and even a Metamora timeout did nothing to stop the onslaught. The Streaks led 67-47 less than two minutes into the period.
The Streaks’ no-miss run continued on a Sharron Diggins drive, a Mangieri 3, a Myra Diggins hoop, a Rainee Sibley drive, a Sharron Diggins 3, two more Myra Diggins baskets and a Lieber 3 before the streak finally ended.
