Thank you fans! At the end of the third quarter, it was really special the way our fans expressed their appreciation for what the girls had done. I have watched a lot of basketball (my wife says way too much), and that 2:42 was as good as it gets in terms of hustle and team work. So it was really good the way our fans recognized that and their spontaneous loud, cheer was awesome. Thanks!!
It was also interesting that when we went on the run, it was our five seniors who were on the floor to start things off. Mickey Rodriguez and Tai Peachey were especially all over the floor.
Since we have gone to the System, that was the most high energy our girls have played. In the last 2:42, we had four separate shifts play. If you do the math, that means each shift lasted about 45 seconds. When each of those groups came over, they were totally gassed and could not continue. By the time we got to the end of the third quarter we did not have any of the 12 players who were ready to go back in, they had played with such energy they had to have a break. When Arseneault talks about getting players to play at a different level because they are only play for 35-50 seconds- this was an example of that happening. During the stretch of 2:42, we had 7 offensive rebounds, and 4 steals. Very, very exciting to say the least.

It was a good win for us vs. an athletic team with a good post player. This is the start of a really tough stretch of 6 games- Normal West, Morton, Rock Island, U-High, Centennial, and UTHS. We showed some toughness tonight.
With 18 wins, we now have one more than we had all last year.
