From the Journal Star....

Dunlap out-shot and out-rebounded visiting Metamora on Tuesday night, resulting in a 47-38 Mid-Illini Conference girls basketball win.
The Eagles (12-9, 5-4) hit 38 percent of their field goals and had a 32-22 rebounding advantage over the Redbirds (4-18, 1-9).
Liz Zoz had 16 rebounds for Dunlap and Hayley Haines scored 14 points.
Damilola Taiwo scored 10 points, including eight in a row in a three-minute span at the end of the first half.

“We’re trying to play up-tempo a little bit more and our defense has been great the last four games,” said Dunlap coach Pat Garst. “Our offense at times is still a little sloppy but when we fast-break, that’s our game.”
Both teams had trouble holding on to the ball. Metamora had 34 turnovers and Dunlap had 28.
Carrie James paced the Redbirds with 16 points. Kara Hartnett, who was injured in Friday’s game at Morton, returned to action against Dunlap and scored nine points and had 11 rebounds.
“We battled, and that’s one of the biggest things we’re working on this year is not watching other teams (take a big lead) and get frustrated,” said Metamora coach Riley Gardner, whose team was down 11-0 to start the game. “We’re not doing that anymore. It’s finding that battle and coming back.”
Morton 46, Limestone 28: The host Potters won their fifth game in as many days behind 14 points from Sarah Livingston. Morton (20-4, 9-0) led 24-9 at halftime. It was the eighth time this season state-ranked Morton held an opponent under 30 points. McKenna Weaver had six points for Limestone (12-8, 4-6).
Canton 46, East Peoria 41: Despite being outscored over the final three quarters, a strong opening eight minutes was the difference in the Little Giants’ home win. Michalea Kumer and Kelsie Fletcher each scored 12 points for Canton (17-4, 8-2). Kylie Giebelhausen topped EP (10-13, 3-7) with 14 points.
Washington 49, Pekin 34: The visiting Dragons led after a quarter, but the rest of the way it was all Washington. Hayley Reneau scored 18 of her game-high 19 points after the first quarter to pace the Panthers (14-6, 8-2). Katie Powell led Pekin (6-15, 1-9) with 12. Erika Johnson had nine of her 11 in the first quarter.
Richwoods 51, Central 29: The state-ranked visitors turned up the defensive pressure in the middle two quarters for a Mid-State 6 win. Richwoods (19-4, 4-1) held the Lions (4-18, 0-4) to three points in the second quarter and two in the third. “We kind of sat back on them in the first quarter and Central is not a team you want to sit back on,” said Knights coach Heather Cassady.
