Galesburg defeated Dunlap 80-66 on Saturday. Dunlap came out early and made it clear they were not going to be a push over as they lead for most of the first quarter. The Streaks took the lead in the late first quarter and held the lead the rest of the game before opening up the game in the fourth quarter.
Dunlap's strategy was to play extremely aggressively on the defensive end. As a result, they got into foul trouble.
Just like last year, it appears our defense is our strength. We forced 40 turnovers with Diggins getting 8 steals, Williams 5, Kelso 3, and Lieber 3.
Sharron Diggins came up huge with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 steals. Casey Williams had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. Jessica Lieber and Allison Mangieri each had 9 points.
Next up for the Streaks will be the undefeated Rocks on Thursday night at Thiel Gym.
