Streaks Schedule for 2012-13 Complete

We have completed our schedule for 2012-13, and we think it will be one of the most demanding schedules we have ever put together. We don't know if our schedule for 2012-13 will be the toughest schedule in Illinois, but it will certainly be a real challenge. It should make us battle tested headed into the Regionals.

Obviously we will have the always tough Western Big Six to battle. This past year, four of the six teams in the Conference were rated at one time or another.

Our Thanksgiving Tourney has added Freeport and Decatur Eisenhower to the already tough field which includes Springfield, Metamora, Dunlap, East Peoria, LeRoy, Knoxville, Illini West, Alleman, and UTHS. Springfield and LeRoy both made trips to State this past year. Six of the 12 teams won 20+ games this past year.

At Christmas we will again be traveling to Charleston for the Charleston Christmas Tourney.

Our King Tourney returns all 8 teams from last year- Morton, Centennial, Alleman, UTHS, Peoria Central, Peoria ND, and U-High. It argueably may be the toughest downstate tourney in Illinois. Six of the 8 teams won 20+ games, and 6 of 8 teams were state rated at one time or another.

We are especially proud of our non-conference schedule.

Sat. Dec. 1- Dunlap at Thiel Gym- Dunlap will return 4 of 5 starters from a team that took us to the wire in 2 of our 3 meetings.

Sat. Dec 8- Galesburg at Maine South- We have been able to renew our game with Maine South. It will be a challenge as they are one of the top ten teams in 4A in Illinois. They return their star 6'3" center, Jacqui Grant. The senior has surpassed 1000 points in her career, while averaging 15ppg and 7+ rebounds last year. She is the daughter of NBA player, Josh Grant.

Sat. Dec 22- Galesburg vs. Jacksonville at the Illinois College Shootout in Jacksonville- This is a great opportunity for us to play in a wonderful facility and get a "shootout atmosphere." Jacksonville will be lead by 6'2" junior, Jaelyn Keene. Keene was all-state with the IBCA and Champaign papers last year as a soph while scoring 18ppg and grabbing 10.4 rebounds per game.

Mon. Jan 9- IVC at Thiel Gym. They return a group of young players with varsity experience.

Sat Feb 2- New Trier at Thiel Gym- We have New Trier back on our schedule. We are very fortunate to have one of the most prestigious basketball programs in Illinois be willing to travel to Galesburg for a game.

Tue Feb 5- Galesburg at Peoria Manual- With Alleman as our last conference opponent and with Alleman having to start the state series in 2A the last week, we have been able to schedule Peoria Manual for the last week before we go into the tourney.
