Galesburg led thru the first half by 3-6 points. Then stretched it to a 51-45 lead going into the fourth quarter. But the Streaks erupted with a huge burst in the fourth quarter to at one point open up a 20 point lead.
The Streaks had 4 players in double figures with Sharron Diggins with 18, Sadee Hamilton 14, Jessica Lieber 14, and Myra Diggins with 10.
The Streaks did a good job on the offensive boards with Allison Mangieri getting 5, Chloe Anderson 4, and Jessica Lieber 4.
They forced 34 turnovers with Sharron and Myra Diggins each getting 4 steals.
It was a gutsy performance by Sadee Hamilton. She was injured vs. UT and doubtful going into the game. She made it clear she was going to play, and she was a huge factor in the game.
The Streaks next play vs. Decatur Eisenhower at the Charleston Tourney on December 28.

The Register-Mail story on the game.....
The Galesburg High School girls basketball pulled away in the fourth quarter and notched a 75-56 Western Big 6 Conference win over Alleman on Thursday.
“It was definitely a good win for us,” said Galesburg coach Evan Massey, whose team outscored the Pioneers 24-11 in the final period. “If you look back since the first conference game you could argue Alleman has one of the best teams in the conference, so this was a good win for us. What’s nice is Alleman was taking away 3s and we are getting players who are comfortable reading the defense and attacking the basket more.”
The Silver Streaks (9-2, 3-2) turned up the defensive pressure in the fourth quarter, which resulted in easy baskets and proved to be the difference in the final eight minutes.
“I think we turned the ball over a lot in the fourth quarter and they capitalized on it,” Pioneers coach Jay Hatch said. “Give Galesburg credit, they stuck with what they wanted to do and we didn’t stick to what we wanted to do. We didn’t do what we needed to get it done. Wishing doesn’t get it done. We turned the ball over way to much.”
The victory moved the Streaks to within a half game of Rock Island and Moline in the WB6 standings. Both team were idle in conference play this week.
The Pioneers (9-5, 3-2) got on the scoreboard first on a basket from Zoe Kelso, who had 13 points, and found themselves down 15-13 after the first quarter. The Silver Streaks started the second quarter with a 6-0 run, with four of the six coming from Sadee Hamilton, who chipped in 14 points and was questionable to play in the game because of a left knee injury suffered in the final seconds of Galesburg’s 65-53 win over United Township last week.
“For us, having Sadee able to play was huge,” Massey said. “She stabilizes us both offensively and defensively.”
The Silver Streaks held a 35-32 lead at halftime. Galesburg and Alleman fought back and forth in the third quarter, with the Streaks coming out ahead 51-45.
Galesburg started the fourth quarter with a 6-2 run on the Pioneers, which prompted Hatch to call a timeout with 6:41 to play. Jessica Leiber, who had 12 points for the Silver Streaks, hit a jumper after the stoppage. Sharron Diggins, who led Galesburg in scoring with 18 points, stole the ball on Alleman’s next possession and laid it in for an easy two points.
With 5:13 to play, Myra Diggins, who notched 10 points for the Silver Streaks, stole an Alleman inbounds pass on the next possession and scored, forcing Hatch to call another timeout with the Silver Streaks’ run at 12-4. Sharon Diggins’ steal and bucket with 3:09 to go in the fourth made it 72-51 and all but wrapped up the victory for Galesburg.
Cierra Davis led the Pioneers in scoring with 17 points and Anne Bohnert chipped in 15.
