Chloe Anderson’s responses to her favorite Holiday memories and what she likes best!
When you were little, what was your favorite winter snow activities- what did you like to do when it snowed?
I liked to build snow forts and have snow wars with my brothers. Jake and Joe were always a team and Drew and I were a pair. We would spend hours planning and pre-making snowballs so when the time came we could ambush each other.
Basketball takes up lots of time, but if you had time off now for a week-- which would you rather do-- go someplace warm for a week and be at a beach or go somewhere you could ski for a week?
I would go someplace I could ski for a week! Even though I don't like being cold, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to be outside in fresh mountain air. I will never forget the first time I went skiing in the Rockies. Jake ended up getting altitude sickness but it was still a blast!
When you were 4 or 5 years old, what would you have preferred to have gotten for Xmas--
I would have preferred to get sports materials and clothes. I was always the little girl playing baseball with all the boys… in a dress. :)
What are some of your favorite Holiday memories?
My favorite holiday memory would be every Christmas Eve my family got together with my dad's side of the family. When we were young and everyone attended, there were 18 grandchildren running around one of the three brothers' houses who lived in Galesburg. Sometime after mass we would all go to one of the houses and eat delicious food and open presents from our cousin gift exchanges. Our cousin Charlie would for some reason pass out at mass. All of us always wanted to sit by him!
On Christmas day we get up early and open our gifts from each other. We eat breakfast together and then usually go sledding before Christmas dinner. One year Drew ended in the ER with a concussion. I'll never forget that Christmas!
When it comes to Holiday food- who is someone that fixes something that you really, really like?
The beef brisket that my dad has fixed for some of the Christmases at our house is one of my favorite foods. In fact, I asked him to make it for our team dinner this year!
What would be your perfect Xmas dinner?
The perfect Christmas dinner would be beef brisket, mashed potatoes, and a big salad. Turtle cheesecake for dessert would make an already perfect supper even better!
Today, what is your favorite Xmas gift?
I definitely can't pick one favorite, so I'd have to go with a combination of clothes, books, and iTunes money.
If you could get any computer/electronic item for Xmas, what would you want?
I would ask for a nice camera. I love taking pictures.
If your family were millionaires, who totally spoiled you- what would you be wanting for Xmas?
Hmmm.. I would want my own kitchen with limitless utensils. All my cooking and baking supplies would have to be colorful and pretty and I guess I might have to ask for a worker to be hired to clean up after me because that's the worst part of baking.
What is your favorite Xmas Carol?
Silent Night is one of my favorite Christmas Carols. It was a tough pick though.
What did you enjoy the most from our trip to Charleston last Holiday season?
I enjoyed the dancing competitions we had in the hotel room. I think someone should bring Just Dance again so that Rainee can beat Coach Massey… for the second year in a row. :)
Amazing how memories can play tricks- I don’t remember it that way.
What are you hoping for this year at Charleston?
This year in Charleston I am hoping for a Championship win and a fun experience with the team.
What do you think the coaches should be asking for Xmas?
Coach Massey, I think you would probably enjoy owning a McDonalds. :)
