Observation- As a one school town, we are fortunate with our local coverage. I tried to find out how Alleman, East Moline, Rocky, and Moline did on Saturday. Maybe I did not look the right places but I could not find their results in the Argus or the Times. I could only find East Moline in the Peoria paper, and find Rocky in the Galesburg paper. Interesting!!

The Richwoods girls basketball team had quite the showing at the Sterling Shootout on Saturday.
In its opener, the Knights took down preseason Class 3A No. 1 Montini 46-33 behind an impressive game from Maggie Cunningham.
The senior scored 24 points, including going 9-for-12 from the free-throw line.
Richwoods used more of a balanced attack in its second game, knocking off host Sterling 64-59.
Three Knights scored in double digits, led by Breana Baker’s 16 points.
EAST MOLINE 50, NOTRE DAME 41: The Irish looked primed for an upset against East Moline, but the Panthers caught fire in the fourth quarter for a 50-41 nonconference victory.
Up three points with five minutes to play, the Irish (4-7) gave up back-to-back three pointers as East Moline (8-4) used a 19-7 advantage in the final period to take the win.
The Panthers’ Mikayla Fallon led all scorers with 17 points. Notre Dame was led by Hannah Wallace’s 12 points.
LIMESTONE 51, EAST PEORIA 29: The Rockets used a big fourth-quarter performance to down the Raiders 51-29 in a Mid-Illini Conference matchup.
East Peoria was down just four points after the third quarter, but then Brooke Johnson found her groove. The Limestone senior scored 12 of her 16 points in the final period as the Rockets outscored the Raiders 21-3 to close out the game.
Senior Savanna Tapper also had 16 points to lead all East Peoria scorers.
PEKIN 58, METAMORA 42: The Dragons got off to a quick start with a 17-4 first quarter and never let off the gas for a 58-42 Mid-Illini Conference victory over the Redbirds.
Pekin’s Michaela Quilty led all scorers with 16. Maddi Carr added 15 for the Dragons. Isabella Morbidelli led Metamora with 11 points, while Joelie Zwick added nine.
DUNLAP 47, CANTON 23: The Eagles used a big performance from Lexi Hobbs to top the Little Giants 47-23 in a Mid-Illini Conference matchup.
Hobbs had 26 points and eight rebounds to lead Dunlap, which held Canton to just six total points in the second half.
The Abingdon High School girls basketball team suffered a 46-34 loss to Rock Island in the Knoxville-Abingdon Holiday Tournament on Saturday to finish fourth.
Beep Jones scored 17 points for Abingdon.
B-PC/A earned a 54-31 win over ROWVA to finish seventh. The Spartans were led by Kim Norris’s 14 points, Abby Stier’s 13 and Sarah Reihm’s 12.
Megan Foglesong scored 14 points for ROWVA.
West Central notched a 58-29 victory over United.
Sterling loses to Rockford Lutheran.
