Friday afternoon the Streaks sophs defeated Metamora 59-50 in a game played at Knoxville HS. I thought both teams played really hard. Since I was not coaching the game, it was fun to watch a close, hard fought game. It was tied 25-25 at half, but the Streaks jumped on things in the third quarter to take a 44-34 lead going into the fourth quarter.
If you have not seen Coach Rux team, he has 11 players on the roster and he plays all 11 players. They sub five for five every 2 minutes. They press, and they play hard.
The sophs finish the tourney at 4-0 and co-champions with Alleman sophs. Congratulations to our sophs, they really played well!
Vs. Metamora, the Streaks were led by Carely Weigand who had 20 points. She was followed in scoring by Katee Lingafelter and Kiersten Boydstun with 7, and then Alyssa Carl and Emily Weaver with 6 each.
The soph Streaks are back in action on Thursday at Quincy at 5:30pm.
