We had our third scrimmage tonight. Last Thursday we practiced an hour and half then had a full scrimmage vs. some faculty. Saturday we practiced in the morning and then had a full scrimmage vs. GHS students in the afternoon. By our scrimmage on Saturday, after a full week of practicing about 2.5 hours per night, you could tell the girls had no legs to run and press.
This week we have emphasized shortening practice but going harder- trying to up the tempo of our play. Tonight we practiced an hour, and then scrimmaged GHS students combined with some of our players. We really looked good and definitely played with greater tempo. The result was 69-33. The score may seem impressive but the part that is really impressive- in keeping with our theme of the week to increase our intensity- we only played one half of basketball. Not bad for one half- 69 points.
We had 5 players with 2+ threes. Pretty impressive. I really like the way our kids are running the floor right now. Our point guards are pushing the ball and seeing the floor well, and our 4's are getting out and running the floor. Fun to watch!!
The girls are very enthusiastic and very coachable at this point.
Meet the Streaks on Friday with Parents Meeting to follow. And we will be selling this years McDonald's Threediculous shirts for $10. Bring your money, last year we sold out the first night.
