Djokovic's explaining his championship, “In a sentence, I lost my fear. I believed in my abilities more than ever."
This quote would seem pretty obvious, but it is so much a key for athletes and teams trying to win that "big game" or that "first championship." All too often athletes and teams get into the "big game" and think they need something special to win. That is a huge mistake. In the big game you don't want the extraordinary, you want the ordinary. You want to rely on what you have been doing in practice after practice after practice. Stick with the basics, don't try to do something special you have not worked on. But in order to take this approach in the "big game", you must have confidence in your ability and your teammates abilities.
In the "big game", rely on what you have practiced!!
