10 OBSERVATIONS OF RAY ALLEN

Yesterday I was able to breakdown some NBA games from this past weekend. As I was breaking Game 3 of the Celtics vs the Knicks, I came away with 10 observations of Ray Allen.

1. He is in the best shape that he can possibly be in at the age of 35.

2. He has a developed a rhythm to his jump shot. Catch and shoot and off the dribble.

3. His jump shot begins with his feet being set quickly.

4. He squares his shoulders before he releases the ball.

5. He sprints on all cuts. His effort is not determined by whether he will get the ball or not.

6. He displays unselfishness by using his cuts to set up his teammates.

7. He uses misdirection and hesitations to set up his defender.

8. He uses his hands to create separation from his defender

9. He reads the defense when using screens.

10. He is able to do all of the above because of hard work and repetition.
