My reactions-
1- When players work as hard as our players have worked, it is always nice to see them recognized for their work.
2- You hope players are happy to be mentioned but that they are far from satisfied with themselves. Sometimes players allow ratings to adversely impact their approach. Our team has had success because of how hard they play, that cannot change. For us to be successful, we have to be hungry.
3- With only 8 people voting, it certainly is not an exact science. I wonder if any media from Peoria voted. Personally I cannot imagine Morton, Peoria Central, or Peoria ND not mentioned. Peoria ND defeated Sterling at the Bloomington Tourney. And I would think that from the Charleston area Effingham and Salem should have been mentioned.
4- Our Regional has four teams receiving votes- ourselves, Rock Island, Sterling, and Geneseo. Things could be worse, we be in the Springfield Regional- if all three of those schools are together it will be a VERY tough one.
5- Wow, talk about landing on your feet. Sandi Devoe was fired at Quincy last spring. She took the head coaching job at Springfield SE, which is rated #2 in Illinois and undefeated. That is a good rebound!
