Slow Start But Beat Effingham

Streaks had trailed only two other times at half this year- vs. Springfield and UTHS. Today we were down 30-27 at half to Effingham. We seemed to come out flat defensively as Effingham got most of the 50/50 loose balls and rebounds. And being a little flat footed got us in foul trouble as both Jessica Howard and Tai Peachey picked up three fouls in the first half.

Key for us was balanced scoring at we had seven players score between 8 to 10 points- Jessica Lieber, Sadee Hamilton, Jessica Howard, Jamie Johnson, Myra Diggins, Paige Klinck, and Mickey Rodriguez. Lieber, Klinck, and Rodriguez all caught fire and hit some big threes down the stretch for us. We hit 17 of 20 free throws, including 10 of 11 in the fourth quarter with Sadee Hamilton hitting 5 of 6.
